kincardine Sunset Quilters Guild

About Kincardine Sunset Quilters Guild...
The Kincardine Sunset Quilters Guild celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2019. We have 90-100 sewers and quilters. KSQG started when 2 Kincardine Ladies, Joyce MacDonald and Simone Lynch wondered if any one would be interested in forming guild. They advertised for interested people to come to a meeting at the Scout Hall on January 19th, 1994. It was a school snow day but 15 ladies showed up. As a result the first official meeting wa February 1994. Joyce was currently the president of the Teeswater 5 Star Guild so Simone became president of KSQG.
A constitution was drawn up (based on the Teeswater 5 Star Guild). The new constitution was signed by Simone Lynch, Marie Jardine and Elaine Thacker. There was no money in the bank, a slim budget, and a first quilt planned. The quilt was raffled and the money raised went to a new Guild Library. There were 40 members at the end of the first year.
The Guild is a not for profit and charitable organization. It provides community support to those in need. The guild's objective is to promote community quilting, share knowledge & expertise, share book resources and tools with members. KSQG strives to improve the skill and artistry of those practicing quilting through education, trunk shows, and class instruction.
